The latest lighting news! Quiet and Fil System

Apr 13 2022

We never stop striving to create new lighting solutions for multipurpose work areas – increasingly sustainable solutions that focus on user well-being.

Our latest ranges, launched in 2021, such as Lamptub 60, Stormbell 80, Nomadic System and Duit, are now joined by the latest launches: Quiet and Fil System, which incorporate technical advances and creative and innovative solutions that expand on the options offered by our portfolio.

  • The Quiet range of luminaires is a comprehensive solution for lighting and acoustic comfort, which you can also customise according to your project requirements.
  • We continue to expand the options and choices in our most extensive lighting structure, the FIL range, which consists of a wide range of dimensions, technologies, distributions and luminous fluxes (Fil 35, Fil 45, Fil 50, Fil 70 and Fil 120) to address different applications, and we have now added a modular concept with Fil System.

In both cases, these lighting innovations prioritise environmental ergonomics by means of two fundamental aspects: lighting and acoustics.

Quiet (Acoustic & Light Portfolio)

The Quiet range offers a highly adaptable integrated solution. It offers sustainability and versatility in a range of luminaires available in different shapes, and with customised finishes. However, they all have one common factor: they have been developed using eco-design criteria.

This solution goes a step further as regards solutions that promote well-being, in that it prioritises two of the most fundamental aspects in environmental comfort: acoustic conditioning and visual comfort, thus developing the concept of Wellbeing lighting, which is specifically designed to have a positive impact on people's well-being.

Among all the techniques that ensure visual health care we can mention:

  • Active glare control by means of the opal comfort diffuser, equipped with a special technical foil
  • Compliance with the UNE 62471 Photobiological Risk standard, with luminaires classified as RG0 (free of photobiological risk);
  • The use of high visual comfort models with a large shielding angle, black reflectors and Ultra Comfort optics;
  • Flicker Free.

Quiet is committed to the well-being of both people and the environment. These luminaires are designed with the concept of circular economy in mind, and this allows for their recycling and reuse. In order to provide acoustic comfort, a sound-absorbing material made of woven non-woven fabric is used, which is composed of recycled PET felt (75% of the plastic comes from bottles).

The acoustic material has a fire resistance classification of Bs1 d0, which makes it suitable for installation even on escape routes.

In addition, they have low emissions of volatile organic particles (LOW VOC) and no formaldehyde emission.

The versatility of the Quiet lighting system is not only limited to technical aspects; aesthetically it is also very versatile, and can adapt to each and every architectural project. The luminaires are available in a wide variety of finishes, and in more than 56 colours and different textures (baffle trim, bevelled, printed). This, together with the different formats available, allows a high degree of customisation and adaptability.

These are formats the Quiet luminaires (Acoustic & Light Portfolio) are available in:

  • Quiet Baffle Fil - Fil 45 Opal Confort
  • Quiet Round Kombic
    - Kombic 100 Opal White/Matt
    - Kombic 100 Optic + Reflector Black/Matt
    - Kombic 150 Optic + Reflector Black/Matt

To complete our all-round service, we offer a comprehensive consultancy service to help you find the best overall solution for your lighting and acoustic project with our Lamp + service.

Fil System

Another new addition to our portfolio is the Fil system, a modular concept that allows several combinations of different types of luminaires to be combined in a single solution: general lighting combined with accent lighting.

It also offers different light distributions, types of technology, colour temperatures and even the development of curved fixtures or customised angles, thus satisfying the lighting design requirements of a wide range of projects.

As with Quiet, the lighting solutions featured in the Fil System comply with the concept of Wellbeing lighting and meet high requirements in terms of glare control, visual comfort, Photobiological Risk, and Flicker Free regulations.

The entire Fil family is manufactured with ASI-certified recycled extruded aluminium, in line with one of the commitments in our sustainability plan, and in keeping with our strategic line #WorktitudeForLife. This solution allows us to obtain:

  • A 70% reduction in direct carbon emissions during manufacture, thanks to the manufacturing process itself, as well the optimization of transport routes and our partnership with sustainable, low-carbon suppliers.
  • An energy usage of only 5% of that used in the original process.

Fil System can be combined with different luminaire formats, such as the Ocult linear downlights and Hance accent spotlights, as well as in different shapes (Curves, Hexagons), as we can see in the following projects:

  • Sagrado Corazón Montemayor Pre-School, where in addition to combining general and accent lighting, there has been an innovative approach in terms of integrating dynamic lighting (2700-6500K) to adapt the lighting to different lighting scenarios, to synchronise with natural light, and to improve the educational experience for children, teachers, and caregivers.
  • The Tigo Une office in Rivana Business Park Torre Norte (Colombia), the seamless linear lighting, combined with the lighting curves, creates unique lighting sensations.
  • Central Point Business Centre (Bogota, Colombia) which plays with the dynamism of the different lighting perceptions integrated into the spatial volumetry. Diffuse lines of light on vertical and horizontal surfaces all combine with point lighting elements, integrating into a single line.
